Pictured to the left, is a replica of the Fudo Myo wood sculpture that Musashi carved. Original pieces of his superb artwork in the form of ink brush paintings, calligraphy, and sword guards still exist in museums for all to see and appreciate; tragically, none of his poetry and music survived nor did most of his opponents. The story of Musashi and his masterpiece, GO RIN NO SHO has been faithfully told and passed down to generations of admirers for over three and a half centuries. "Even the waters of time, cannot put out the fire of his legacy and inspiration."

THE SPIRIT OF WATER: Water alters its shape according to the shape of its container, be it square or round, and it can be a drop or an ocean. THE SPIRIT OF FIRE: Fires can be large or small and change suddenly and drastically.

If you have a small body, you must know whatever there is to know about having a large body; if you have a large body, you must know all about having a small body. Whatever your size, you must keep your mind straight and not be misled by knowing only your own body. With your spirit open and unconstricted, look at things from a high point of view. You must cultivate your wisdom and spirit. Polish your wisdom: learn public justice, learn to distinguish between right and wrong, study the Ways of different arts one by one to experience what is sought in each. When you cannot be deceived by anyone you will have acquired judgement in strategy.
